GRP Enclosures
What is a GRP enclosure?
GRP or glass-reinforced plastic enclosures are fibreglass housings designed to offer protection and security for essential equipment, electronics, switchgear and pipework. They are most commonly found trackside, roadside or on construction, manufacture or utility sites. The housing may just contain electronics, switchgear or communications equipment, or it may be a larger enclosure enabling your workforce to stay protected from the elements or other dangers while they work.
At Fibaform, we specialise in crafting GRP enclosures that offer cost-effective solutions when durability and environmental protection are essential. Our enclosures are meticulously constructed from virtually maintenance-free glassfibre, with each one uniquely tailored to meet your precise operational requirements.
Customised GRP buildings
Fibaform takes pride in providing a comprehensive one-stop solution for your GRP cabinets, manufacturing enclosures to meet your exact requirements from design to delivery and installation. Our GRP enclosures are available in sizes ranging from a compact 1.0m x 1.0m x 1.2m to a large 20.0m x 6.0m x 3.5m and everything in between.
Additionally, our glass-reinforced enclosures can be supplied with an internal flange for fixing to a prepared concrete or steel base. All enclosures are available in any colour from the RAL or BS ranges to align with your aesthetics. This includes a range of finishes such as gloss, satin, brick or stone.

Features and specifications
When it comes to custom features, we offer a wide range of doors for your enclosure, including single personnel doors or full-height double-opening doors. Each can be fitted into any appropriately sized wall, reinforced with steel, and encapsulated within the glass fibre laminate, complete with seals as standard.
Additional options include removable transom and sills, a full range of locking mechanisms, open bases with internal reinforced flanges for fixing, or integral composite construction floors. For load-bearing requirements, enclosures can be supplied on treated frames manufactured from steel channels with steel plate decking.
Other customisable features that we offer include mounting boards, cable entry and gland plates, and more:
- Electrics – All electrical systems in GRP kiosks are fitted in accordance with IEE regulations, encompassing domestic to Zone 1 as required.
- Heating and Cooling Properties – Fibaform Protection Enclosures are manufactured from glass fibre-reinforced plastics, encapsulating a 12mm or 18mm core. Our enclosures incorporate PU foam for higher thermal and acoustic properties.
- Ventilation and Cowls – Choose from various ventilation options, including weather louvres with GRP cowls. Where necessary, forced ventilation and cooling can also be fitted.
- Internal Partitions – The enclosure’s interior can either be resin-coated or have a washable textured flecked paint finish.
Safety and compliance
Safety is paramount at Fibaform. Our GRP kiosks conform to the BS476: Part 7, Class 2 standard for fire resistance. We can also adhere to higher performance fire ratings and provide enclosures with explosion relief if specified.
